At Dragons, we believe greater access to international experiences helps prepare students to take on the many global challenges that can only be addressed from a place of experience and empathy. We continually strive to offer financial support in order to make our programs available to a greater number of students.

Any student, who is eligible for a Dragons College Study Abroad program and who has financial limitations, is encouraged to apply for a Dragons College Scholarship. When awarding College Scholarships, we look for applicants who demonstrate financial need and who are curious, driven, and ready to fully engage with communities around the world. These students are interested in cultivating self-awareness, global citizenship and leadership skills within themselves, and we hope that they’ll inspire others to do the same.

Step 1 – Complete an online College PROGRAM Application

Step 2 – Download and complete a College SCHOLARSHIP Application

Step 3 – Submit your scholarship application and supplemental materials via email

Once we have received both your program & scholarship applications we will conduct an initial review of applications. If we have any questions about your scholarship application, we will follow up with you and/or your home institution as needed. We will notify applicants of award decisions via email.

Scholarship applications are due at the same time as program applications (see deadlines here). Decisions will typically be made approximately two weeks after these deadlines.

  • How much scholarship funding can I expect to receive?

Dragons awards college scholarships in a variety of amounts, with the specific award amount based on an individual’s demonstrated financial need and available funds. A scholarship may support anywhere from 10% to 80% of Dragons tuition & fees.

  • Can I use financial aid from my home institution to pay for the program?

Maybe. Please review the answer to this question and other questions about finances by visiting our FAQs page.

  • Do I need to pay the $850 program deposit if I am applying for a scholarship?

No. Scholarship applicants are not required to pay the program deposit that is typically due along with the program Confirmation Form.

  • If awarded, how will I receive the Dragons College Scholarship?

Dragons College Scholarships are given in the form of program fee reductions and are only applicable for students participating on a Dragons College Study Abroad program. Your scholarship will be reflected as a credit on your program invoice.

  • How else can I support my program?

If we are unable to accommodate your level of financial need, don’t give up. Students fund their experiences with Dragons in many ways. For example, there are several outside sources for scholarships and aid. Some example external scholarships to explore include:
