Cat Monzón is a Maya K’iche’ woman. Born in Totonicapan in the Guatemalan highlands, she attended an English immersion school in Guatemala as a child and has studied in English for the majority of her life. After her high school studies, Cat pursued film production, and during the last 3 years she has been leading immersion and educational programs in Guatemala, Belize, and Peru. She believes in teaching from the heart and considers art as an educational tool of positive change for humanity. She loves listening to music of many genres and when traveling, she always seeks out traditional or local live music sessions. She also likes exploring the variety of food in the places she travels. Ultimately, Cat likes to enjoy the simple pleasures in life: a good meal, a hot drink, meaningful conversations, and contemplating nature and the stunning views it has to offer.
