Cat Monzón

Peru & Bolivia Instructor

Cat Monzón was born in the Guatemalan highlands, and identifies as a Maya K’iche’ woman. She studied film and has been leading experiential education trips since 2016 in: Guatemala, Belize, Bolivia and Peru. She enjoys being a “hands on” educator and facilitator. Interpreting is another of her passions along with photography and music writing. As an educator she is committed to breaking down preconecptions, stereotypes and thinking outside the box. She is passionate about and loves engaging in conversation about: power & privilege, migration, colonization and de-colonization and art in general. She believes a better and more just world can be shaped through breaking down generational trauma, engaging in the arts, learning to love and live with the natural world and creating a new paradigm of education.
