Hello! My name is Valentina, I was born in Argentina, but have been living in São Paulo for over 13 years and call it my home. From a young age, I’ve always had a passion for learning, and a trip with Dragons was the perfect opportunity to explore this passion. I went to the Bhutan program last summer and the experience was so breathtaking I wouldn’t do it justice by describing it in only a few sentences. I hope everyone can have the opportunity to embark on a life-changing journey like I just did. I only learned about Dragons because of my cousin who went to the Ladakh program several years ago. This is why I became an ambassador, to spread the word about Dragons in my country.

Something I would like to tell a prospective Dragons student:

Everyone feels nervous before committing to a Dragons trip. It’s normal, you are going to spend an extended period of time with people you haven’t met and experience many situations you aren’t used to. Just remember that everyone that signed-up to these trips for a reason and that everyone is feeling the same way. Quickly you will get to know everyone in your group and soon you will be singing the same song over and over again during your trek. You will experience difficult times and what is hard for you might be someone else’s strength. Just remember that you will become an important member of a supportive group that will always have your back no matter what. I have also found that the moments I enjoyed the most and the ones that made me grow were the ones I struggled to overcome. It’s ok to be nervous, it takes a lot of courage to sign up for a trip like this and it will definitely exceed your expectations from the first day to the last.

If I had a year to burn:

I would go to home-stays all over the world because there is no better way to explore a culture and community.
