Matthew Merritt

Biography: hello everyone! I’m Matthew Merritt, a senior residential advisor at McCallie School in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Over the summer, I live in my hometown of Bridgeport, Alabama. I became connected with Dragons my freshman year when the Dean of Students at my school recommended the program to me. It seemed impossible to attend a course then, so I was incredibly elated to receive financial aid from Dragons to attend a 4 week course in Senegal last July. Every moment in Senegal taught new lessons and brought new friends, so I am very grateful to have received the opportunity. In sum, my course was transformative. It is something I know I can build upon as I continue to travel and meet new people.
