Mengting Xu

Originally from Kunming, the capital of Yunnan Province, Mengting Xu (Peggy) brings a decade of professional experience in tourism and cross-cultural education to Dragons, with a deep-rooted connection to the southwest region of China.

Mengting graduated from Yunnan Nationalities University with a degree in tourism management. Yunnan is known for its extraordinary biodiversity and cultural richness, and tourism has long been a key industry in the region. Drawing from this environment, Mengting began working as a professional tour guide in 2012. Since then, she has led trips both domestically and internationally, developing expertise in cultural interpretation, group facilitation, and logistical coordination.

With firsthand knowledge of Yunnan’s diverse ethnic cultures and landscapes, Mengting offers invaluable insight into the region’s traditions and transformations. She’s eager to explore the meaningful connections and learning that emerge when students engage deeply with local communities.

Outside of her work, Mengting is passionate about cooking, swimming, and is a certified freediving instructor. She brings warmth, curiosity, and a love of experiential learning to her role as an instructor.
