Julieta Carrión

Peru Instructor

Environmental educator, volunteer, scenic artisan, and Sociology student at the University of San Marcos

Since a young age, Julieta has been on a journey to embrace and care for life in all its forms. In the ever-changing dance of being both apprentice and guide, her first experience as an educator came at 18, when she designed and led a summer program for children and teenagers focused on body exploration through play and handball—an experience that taught her the power of creativity, empathy, and joyful learning.

Her studies in sociology have deepened this path, helping her connect global systems with personal transformation: if she believes the world must heal, she must begin with herself. She is truly grateful to the master plants and the Red Way of the Lakota tradition for still guiding her, as well as to the traditional masters from various cultures who continue to teach her through herbal medicine.

In 2023, she began mountaineering—climbing Apus as both a spiritual and ecological practice. This became a powerful motivation to join Preservando as an environmental educator and volunteer, leading reforestation and cleanup efforts in Lima’s mountain ecosystems and co-creating the community storytelling project Preservando Historias to preserve local myths and legends. In the city, she collaborates with Jóvenes Líderes Solidarios, facilitating spaces for environmental awareness, self-knowledge through art, and youth leadership.

She remains deeply grateful for every opportunity life offers her to connect, share, and heal with others through love and solidarity—trusting that learning becomes truly transformative when nurtured in community.
