Rosalyn Shih

B.A. Columbia University, English Literature
Rosalyn was born in Canada and raised in Hong Kong. She has lived in mainland China and Taiwan for a number of years, and she continues to examine ways to reconcile her identity as an ethnically Chinese and overseas Hong Konger.
Rosalyn graduated from Columbia University, obtaining a New York State Teaching Certificate in Adolescent Education (English Language Arts). After graduation, Rosalyn became a Teaching Fellow at the Urban School of San Francisco. She then moved to Beijing in 2012, and then toKunming in 2019, where she worked as Resident Director for the Middlebury in China study abroad program.
During COVID, Rosalyn moved to Taiwan. She is now responsible for college counseling and Student Well-Being at an experimental high school in Taipei, where she teaches a course in Life Design. Rosalyn dabbles in movement education, contact improv dance, improv theatre and playback theatre. She is trained as a Mindfulness Coach and in Body-Mind Centering.
Her mission is to bring more human-centered practices to culturally-sensitive educational environments.
