Morocco Instructor

Yasmina Ahlmaris B.A. in Graphic Design & B.A. in English Studies | Wilderness First Aid Certified | Certified Bike Mechanic

Yasmina Ahlmaris is a Moroccan educator, artist, and cyclist based in Marrakech. She brings a grounded, introspective presence to her work guided by a deep love for art, storytelling, and the quiet spaces where true connection happens. She is someone who notices the details others miss, and carries her experiences with softness and intention.

She has led immersive educational programs with Where There Be Dragons and other cross cultural initiatives, supporting students as they navigate both the landscapes of Morocco and their inner worlds. Yasmina is passionate about cycling as both a mode of travel and a personal philosophy. She rode solo across Morocco over 800 kilometers an experience that shaped her relationship with independence, trust, and movement.

Her fascination with bicycles goes beyond the ride she spent time learning bike mechanics in a local workshop, gaining the skills to care for her own bike and pass on that knowledge to others. This passion led her to create Wheels of Her Own, a concept aimed at encouraging women to ride, repair, and reclaim the road together.

Yasmina is also a filmmaker; her documentary about her solo journey gained wide recognition in Morocco and opened conversations around gender, mobility, and courage. She often screens the film for Where There Be Dragons students, using it as a starting point for reflection and storytelling.

Spiritual at heart, Yasmina believes in the power of solitude, softness, and slowness. Whether riding through desert landscapes or sitting in conversation with strangers, she brings a quiet reverence for life’s deeper layers.
