B.A. in B.A. Latin American Studies, George Washington University
M.Ed. with a Certificate in Education for Environment and Community, University of Washington
Emy hails from the Bay Area, but currently lives in Seattle where she is working towards a M.Ed from The University of Washington, with a focus on integrating environmental, experiential and service learning. She is particularly interested in crafting intentional, place-based learning experiences that spark meaningful dialogue, reflection and action. This will be Emy’s third year returning as a Dragons instructor. She has led summer and semester courses in Bolivia, Guatemala and Peru, but is especially eager about working in Guatemala where she was a WTBD semester student.
Emy also gets excited about mountains, bikes, gardening, printmaking, birds, sunshine, foraging, and making jam. She loves to travel and cannot wait to return to Guatemala this summer to explore and continue to learn alongside her students.
