Annie is from Qingdao, a major city in eastern China. Because of her love of China’s ethnic minority cultures, she moved to Kunming in Yunnan province more than ten years ago. Since then she has traveled around Yunnan to visit 25 minority groups. She also has been to 19 of China’s provinces, three autonomous regions, and four federally governed cities, and as well as more than 20 countries.

Annie taught Chinese to foreigners for 12 years, and has worked for Dragons as an instructor since 2008. She is now Coordinator of Dragons’ China programmes, connecting host families, students, Chinese language teachers, and Dragons instructors, and helping to identify new resources and areas of learning for China programmes.

She loves to share stories of China’s history with students and to learn from people from all over the world. She currently lives in Kunming with her two sons and husband.
