Program Overview

Gain the skills to confidently facilitate profound learning in international settings.


The Instructor Training Course is open to interested participants with an existing foundational skill set in outdoor or international education wishing to hone their trade and to work with Dragons.

As a 20 day immersive training course, participants build on their existing skills with a deeper exposure to Dragons curriculum, pedagogy, and risk management practices. They hone their abilities as facilitators of international education programs while also gaining a unique personal experience in the rich cultural traditions of Peru. Participants are immersed in homestays, independent study projects, a multi-day trek, and explore relevant cultural and social history while also having opportunities to practice and improve their ability to facilitate these activities. The Instructor Training Course is open to interested participants with an existing foundational skill set in outdoor or international education wishing to hone their trade and to work with Dragons.

Upon completion of the course, and after a process of evaluation, participants may be eligible for employment with Dragons. Our goal for this training course is to help passionate educators hone the skills and set them up for work with Dragons or similar organizations.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

  • Eligible to work for Dragons
  • Basic English language abilities
  • Desire to work in international experiential education
  • Passion to explore and expose others to the complexity of the human and the natural world
