China: Silk Road & Peru: Sacred Mountain
Corte Madera, CA
I currently live in San Francisco, am a senior at Redwood High School in the Bay Area, and have been fortunate enough to go on two trips with Dragons. One to Peru for 6 weeks at age 14, and another to China along the Silk Road at age 16. I’m a strong believer in the idea that the most growth an individual can do is outside of their comfort zone, and I grew up among nature being from South Africa. I love adventure, hanging out with friends, and music of course.
Something I would like to tell a prospective dragons student…
I’m not going to sugarcoat it. Being away from family with a bunch of people you don’t know, is daunting. You’ll be nervous, homesick, scared, and most definitely excited. But all the nerves and homesickness as well as excitement, is how everyone else feels too. With Dragons, you may struggle a bit, but you’ll form bonds and friendships that’ll last a life time, you’ll also be going to a completely new country. Take the most out of the opportunity presented to get out of your comfort zone, push yourself, learn about a new culture, and make great friends. You’ll love it.
The wildest thing that has ever happened to me…
A year or two ago going cage diving in South Africa with great whites.
