Benefits of becoming an Alumni Ambassador

General Ambassador Expectations

  • Program runs from September 2019 – August 2020
  • Help us spread the word about Dragons through school visits, presentations, social media, article in your newspaper, etc.
  • Participate in monthly ambassador challenges and opportunities (based on your availability)
  • Track your initiatives for a chance to earn Dragons branded gear 
  • Contribute your own ideas and initiatives for Dragons with Boulder Admin

Internship Ambassador Expectations

  • Program runs from September 2019 – August 2020
  • Commit 40 hours of Ambassador work between September 2019 and April 2020 (retreat not included in hours)
  • Attend the Boulder Ambassador Retreat weekend in early November. Exact date TBD
  • Develop personal internship plan with your mentor
  • Participate in monthly ambassador challenges and opportunities
  • Work collaboratively, both with other Ambassadors and Dragons Admin, but also independently and hold self accountable for completing tasks
  • Participate in phone check ins with your Dragons mentor and/or other ambassadors
  • Regularly check email and respond to correspondence from the Boulder office and prospective students & families
  • Help us spread the word about Dragons through school visits, presentations, social media, article in your newspaper, etc.

*Internship Ambassadors Role Descriptions

Dragons Fund Ambassador The Dragons Fund provides needs-based scholarships for students to attend Where There Be Dragons programs. The Dragons Fund is a program of the International Carpe Diem Foundation (Carpe Mundi), a 501(c)(3) non-profit. We ensure that all students have access to a transformational global education, regardless of their financial circumstances. Help us provide uncompromised access for all!

  • Call and text potential donor families to let them know about DF
  • Brainstorm ways that all Dragons alumni can help spread the word
  • Support Development Managers with additional fundraising admin tasks as needed
  • Candidate must have: Excellent phone and writing skills, fluency with Facebook and Instagram social media platforms
  • Some familiarity with fundraising preferred
  • Willingness to set a personal DF fundraising goal and meet that goal by December 31, 2019
  • Willingness and enthusiasm to rally other Dragons alumni to give in our fall 2019 campaign

Social Media Ambassador

  • Innate excitement for the worlds of media and social communications
  • Fluency in Instagram, YouTube and other social platforms
  • Ability to respond quickly (by group text) to offer feedback on digital campaigns
  • Excitement for exploring (and possibly on-boarding) an Alumni Platform
  • Thrill for the possibilities of video reviews, contests, and everything else video-related
  • Excitement to offer website UX/UI (user interface and design) feedback
  • Help testing and filling out surveys
  • Able to field Instagram inquiries and direct messages.
  • Ideas/excitement for hosting Instagram takeover and LIVE events

Outreach and Brand Stewardship Ambassador

  • Provide admin feedback on various Dragons marketing and outreach campaigns
  • Support our instructors when they are out on the road marketing 
  • Give a presentation about your Dragons experience at your school – format is up to you!
  • Organize and host an information session for prospective students in your area
  • Correspond with prospective and signed up students for Summer 2020 programs 
  • Participate in various marketing and outreach projects 
  • Attend any summer & fairs or Dragons events happening in your area 
  • Excited to contribute your own ideas to this role!
