Nos vamos a la Disorientacion
by Luispe, Colleen and Aaron

August 04, 2008

After dinner last night with Doña Ade and Pablo, we sat around the candle fire leaning our backs against a maya mural painted by Manuel, a shaman who lived there way back in the 80's. Our minds rested by the presence of the flame and our eyes met by the chanting of "I see you in myself" in ancient maya chol. Seeing everyone so confortable with silence, holding hands and looking deep into the eye, made me realize we have traveled deep through the layers that Guatemala has had to share with us, and that together we have overcome and grown form every single step along this journey.

This morning, we are traveling south of el peten, to Poptun, where Finca Ixobel awaits for our last casita for disorientation.

Reflection and self examination lies ahead, as our backpacks have turned lighter on the load but heavier of wisdom and responsability.

Saludos Dragones y hasta la proxima transmision!
