Since running our first courses in 1993, Dragons has set the standard for overseas experiential education. Critical to our success is the core curriculum that we have developed around our nine program components, bringing consistency and depth to each of our journeys. Also, by integrating our core values of global citizenship, self-exploration, leadership and skill building into all aspects of our operations, we commit ourselves to a high standard of organizational integrity. And by staffing our programs with incomparable instructors, keeping our groups small, and developing personal relationships with extraordinary students, we have developed a program structure that provides the most authentic and honest cross-cultural experiences available.
Who are the students who join us?
Participants on Dragons courses are creative, bright, curious people in search of a more honest understanding of human relationships, environmental and social dynamics, and the meaning and value of their existence. Some are looking for an opportunity to stretch the boundaries of their physical limitations; some want to serve others in a meaningful way; some are interested in exploring a different world view; many just want to know how big and diverse the world really is.
How small groups ensure the best experience:
Small groups enable us to provide low-to-the-ground, high quality learning adventures wherein we can best address the personal needs, interests and goals of each traveler. The flexibility of small groups enables us to take advantage of a myriad of unique opportunities, like fitting into a nomad's tent or piling into the back of a tractor. All experiences are more personal, interesting, and fun. Most importantly, a small group size allows us to more easily address safety concerns and respond to changes in student health.

Dragons instructors are simply the industry's best. Our field staff is composed of mature adults who have years of amazing personal and professional experience, and the skills needed to teach, guide, and empower students in profound ways. Having lived, worked, studied or volunteered overseas, our instructors are able to tap into their unique backgrounds, sharing with students the personal connections that they have made. Furthermore, their first-hand knowledge of in-country risk issues and medical care ensures that safety considerations are paramount in all aspects of course design and implementation.
