Juan Salvador Galich
Guatemala Instructor

Proud of being the son of artists and a true nature lover, 'Juancho' has lived in Antigua Guatemala for 14 years. When he is not climbing volcanoes or taking people on adventures, he is playing music with his band and other traveling and local musicians. He discovered the beauty of Guatemala thanks to mountain biking and outdoor adventures almost 10 years ago, and realized how necessary it was to work with locals to help them preserve nature and improve their lives. He traveled and lived in the U.S. in 2004 where he worked as a Sushi chef since cooking is another one of his passions. There he lived with a Thai community and learned about their culture and hot chilies. In 2006 Juancho returned to Guatemala and the outdoor life following always his spirit. Juancho believes that we are all part of this Universe and that we should all be in harmony with it, and that’s why he has been involved in ecotourism and ecological projects, supporting and helping national parks develop, building homes and efficiency stoves for communities and making friends everywhere he goes. He has worked with high school and University groups from the U.S., and with different international volunteer programs and NGOs working in Guatemala, team building and coordinating activities. With 6 years of experience working as a free-lance adventure guide and Trip Leader with companies like Old Town Outfitters and Ecotourism and Adventure Specialists he has guided people of all ages and nationalities, providing him the opportunity to continuously develop communication and leadership skills across diverse cultures.
